Judging

why hello people. So i've been COMPLETELY busy with my life so far. I've been doing a lot of job hunting, and have recently gotten a judging job for an artistic pageantry circuit. I am not really allowed to publicize my involvement with this on social media websites, so i'm going to just call it my APC
 (Artistic Pageantry Circuit). I've been hired as a General Effects judge, and on saturday, i got to shadow and see what it was like to watch and critique over 20 groups that performed. Basically all i had to do was sit there, and talk into a tape recorder, and tell them how to improve their show musically, visually, and technically. It was perfect. I was asked and recruited to do this because of my involvement in designing colorguard uniforms.. I'm really excited to see where this will take me in my journey!!! anyway i just got back home, and i am tired. Good night!

Beauty in society

Hello everyone,
Today i was interviewed by someone from KOSU radio, about fashion.
The segment was about beauty, and how society has skewed ladies "ideal" body type to be those of the supermodels, size 00, and underweight. I talked about some of my experience with that, and it was a great learning and growing experience. I was just messing around with Photoshop today, and i created a  "Real" vs. "Photoshop" picture. Here it is. Ladies, (and gentlemen) please know that this kind of body :

New Camera, Vlogs starting!

Hello kids!
Finally got all the things i needed to get started vlogging my life! tomorrow Ashley and i will be doing a fun segment on... ITS A SURPRISE ! anyway here is a picture of my camera!

For all you interested in Vlogging or photography, this is a great camera to use on the go! Many adventures can be made with this beauty. This is a Cannon PowerShot SX160 IS. It shoots 720p HD Movies!!! its pretty amazing! the sound is great with stereo sound. :) love it. I HIGHLY recommend it for YouTube videos.

 So this is to show you the process i go through when i am creating a "look" or design. I use photoshop, sketch book, and Fotor for my process! it took about 45 minutes to do this whole process! i hope you enjoy it! thank you!

today is a great day!
I just got my tribal money so i'm off to Best Buy or Walmart (somewhere that will have my camera) and getting my Canon Powershot! so excited! once i get that i'll be posting daily vlogs! hopefully i'll come up with interesting subjects to do them on. In the beginning they will most likely just be about me and what i do, but then they will be a collection of different things! alright! well i'll post later on today about my experience! :) Cannot wait! oh by the way, this is my favorite song right now!

The Real Hunger Games

Hello friends!
So today i made a "Draw my life video. I am pretty sure it is way too long to put it on Youtube, so tomorrow i'll be putting it on this blog and my website! oh by the way! I HAVE A WEBSITE. It's not officially official, but it is under construction, but it has been published so if you go to the URL it is visible.

Now for my real blog:
As a starving student, my budget this week is a whole of 30 dollars. I'm going to have to make that stretch. I'm looking for another job, but right now it's sort of ghetto right now in my household. I am also waiting on my tribal money. OH if only i had all the money in the world. I would be carefree!

         But i would also probably be very bored. Unforetold adventures of the impoverished collegates are most interesting tales to tell. Hunger game entry 1: This morning Ashley and i woke up to find that there was little to no breakfast food in my house... so we improvised, and ended up scrapping together a cakemix, applesauce, and 4 eggs to make a coffee cake... (and by coffee cake i mean that we had the cake with some coffee)... oh the adventures. If anything we have learned that we can in fact survive in times during which there is no money...! tomorrow shall be another adventure! hopefully i'll be able to go to Walmart soon to shop!

Food for thought.

after skyping with clients about guard uniforms that i will be custom designing, I invited my best friend ashley over and we cooked a lovely (but cheap, we are both poor college students) dinner. Spaghetti, and garlic bread. We also had some Lincoln Farms Pink Moscato (wine) it was lovely. I RECOMMEND IT! for only $9 it's a great bottle of wine to have. the whole meal took only about 30 minutes.

Has it really been that long?

hello lovelies! it's been way too long. so i've had a lot of things going on lately. I've been hired by about 4 schools to custom design their colorguard uniforms! i am so happy about it! i am currently living in my college town, working at the Buckle as a seamstress. I've recently created a website with Wix.com and am developing, researching, and creating new opportunities for myself, as well as projects that will enhance my future. There have been quite a few obstacles to my conquest this semester, but i am stronger because of them! here's a collection of pictures to illustrate the success i have found in the last couple of months! my summer resolution is to post on this blog at least 2x a week! as well as get more and more followers!

so many new developments in my life since my last post. i am having 2 dresses in the Euphoria fashion show here at my college. both beautiful dresses that I'm so proud of. there are many things that have happened.

Progress

Costume Design

Costumes i designed for a follies show.  It's always great practice to volunteer to design for a greek show! this theme was a retirement home theme. I designed costumes for an old lady, an orderly, and a grandson. It was good experience to help design. :)

Last night i stayed up until 3 in the morning working on my swatch book. it's this book for textiles, and let me tell you that it is annoying as heck. SHEESH i am an apparel design major, but i don't think anyone should have to go through what i had to. It's just this huge book that has swatches in it, that tell you the fiber content, what it's made from and other random crap. it's not pointless, but i wish it was so i wouldn't have to go through all that trouble. 198 swatches. taping it in, writing the name, number, and fiber content. UGH. it's a good thing i love fabric i guess. Oh here is a page in my lookbook!
